In the new house

Sorry I haven't written much lately - I've been too busy choosing the new curtains and wolf-whistling the builders outside our lovely new house.
We got the keys last Friday but didn't officially move in until Sunday, and the place is slowly taking shape. Since the house is brand new, it's pretty much an open canvas decoration-wise, but we've tried to avoid going nuts at Woodie's. The house still looks a bit bare, but we're not very far off from a cosy family home, I tell ye.
Ronan's had a busy schedule of interesting meetings and interviews. We're very lucky to be in a position where he doesn't have to jump at the first crappy call-centre chance again. I've been working away with the translations slowly but surely, and the money from that will go towards our summer holiday plans in August- two weddings in two countries in consecutive weekends.
We don't have internet at the house yet, the phone line has been installed but the Easter holidays are going to delay getting the broadband for while. We might go to Clare for a couple of days around the weekend, but we'll be back by Sunday to entertain our Danish guests and to meet Bren, Jess and her cousin.
I can't believe it's only 2 more weeks until our sunny holiday in Spain, too. The last time I saw the Mediterranean sun was back in 1995 - about time I got some off-season sun. Although I'm looking forward to the sun and the warmth and most of all the wedding of Ronan's old friend and his fiancee, I'm still not quite ready for a beach holiday. I'm sure I'll manage to enjoy the week and my time in Spain. The last few days in Ireland have been a good practise with bright skies and t-shirt weather.
I mightn't have a chance to write for a while, but I'll try and keep you posted at least on weekly basis from now on. Can't wait for the normal routine to resume!

Congratulations on your new home. I did go a little crazy at Woodie's in the end, but I managed to order a lot of stuff online from Ikea Edinburgh - who just shipped it over to Dublin. Ahhh, shopping from your own living room...
Enjoy your holiday, couldn't come at a better time!
I am jealous.
House to decorate AND exceptionally busy travel plans.
To sunny nice places too it sounds.
Jealous.
Anywa, hope to see you in the next few days!
Thanks! :)
We've tried to shop around but the Woodie's is so temptingly on the way from Ronan's parent's house to our place, it's so difficult not to nip in to get a slice of sand paper or a couple of matress covers.
The removals company that brought over our stuff from Edinburgh actually do the Edi-Dub deliveries for IKEA so we've been considering ordering stuff too, but decided we're not going to make major investments until next year when we're buying our own.
I think it might be still worth it to order from the Edinburgh IKEA, just to avoid sitting in traffic in M50...
Brendan, can't wait to see you & the crew soon!
Trust me it hasn't all been as rosy as it sounds, my hands are full of cuts from trying to assemble the tv bracket and I had to even take out my lovely engagement ring to nurse the rash I got from all the washing detergents!
The dish washer is finally working after spitting all the shit water in, the plumber forgot to bolt one of the toilets in, and as we speak, Ronan's arguing with Eircom about the broadband that we have already ordered 3 times... Ah the joys of sorting your life out!
Sounds like you have been super busy!! Hey, you never replied to my email asking for your address - I know you wont want to post it up here but if you get a chance email me with it!!
Onnea uuteen kotiin ;)
