A quick breather

I'm emerging on the surface for a few days between translations, but it won't last for long. I'm working on a big project that should be done by the end of the month, but unfortunately this means that I'm not out enjoying the spring sun. I was so busy working last week that I actually, literally didn't go out for 5 days apart from one quick car trip to the shop. Sad, I know, but I managed to make up for it on Saturday when we had sneaky pre-summer garden bash, coinciding conveniently with the FA Cup final.
Yesterday we went to Ronan's parents house for our traditional Sunday dinner, where we were joined by Marian's poet friend. She had recently been to Barcelona for some sort of poets' conference, and there she had recorded two Finnish poets Merja Virolainen and Jouni Inkala reciting a traditional Finnish poem If the One I Know Came Now as well as Nocturne by Eino Leino. It was like hearing a message from someone I knew, and what made the message even more special was that they dedicated it "to Lukas Aidan Browne". Precious.
Lukas had grown so much since we moved here. His favourite things at the moment are climbing and standing on high things, bubbles, water (in any form, internally or externally), cottage cheese, orange juice, football, legos, reading books, sleeping in his car seat, breastmilk, his new summer shoes, a doll called Friend/Kaveri, blowing his own nose, wendy houses, trikes and playing outdoors.
So, it looks like I'll be working hard this week too, and on Friday we might be heading to the west coast once again with my brother and his girlfriend, who are flying over for a short break before he has to go back to work after having an operation on his shoulder. I'm looking forward to seeing them for the first time since Christmas, and showing them around on their first trip to Ireland. I've also uploaded some photos in Flickr, taken from around the lovely Kildare, in the hope that they would lure even more visitors our way. Also, almost all of our photos from Spain and the wedding are now up, go and have a look!

Of your last posts, this subject is the most interesting… for me. Greetings, Mariana Cuentos.
